A woman is a planet

A woman is a planet
Strung on an oval string
A body to inhabit,
Before spreading your wings

Then, become a comet
A whirring ball of ice
A mind without alignment
To anything but night

Yes, your land is dark-
And deep as Plato's dreams
Yet speaks your inner heart
"Why am I wandering?"

"Is freedom liberation
From loneliness and tears?
Perhaps your destination
Is an atmosphere"

And so you find the dome
Of another's heart
And love has made it known
You're right back to the start-
A comet torn apart
Absorbed into granite
(The essence of woman,
A planet)
