The Road

Headin' on down the highway
I got the radio on.
Watchin' the mile posts fly by me.
Searchin' for my favorite song.
One that brings me back to you, Babe.
That one we both would sing along.
Wonderin' why we're not together.
Just what the hell went wrong?

The road has always been there.
A trusted friend to me, you know.
When I need to get my head straight,
I'd hop in my car and go.
You've got my mind all twisted, Babe
My every thought is of you.
It's you that makes me happy
I hope you know that is true.

Not real sure where I'm goin'.
Guess I'll find out when I'm there.
I'm dreaming 'bout your eyes of green
And that soft, sweet, curly hair.
Seems that all roads lead to you, Babe.
My GPS has gone insane.
Looks like the Gods are sayin'
I need to be with you again.

They say the road goes on forever
And the party never ends.
I need another chance my love.
I just need to make ammends.
So I'm driving home to you, Babe.
I'll be down on bended knees.
Let me back into your life.
This I'm begging of you, please.
