..the associations run wild at dawn..

Dawnlick

  Ever notice
  how the sun laps
   morning mists
  the way a cat laps

  wet fur
  after at dew-spangled
   mouse-hunt

Had to smile at this, my cats left just the ears of a rabbit in the winter garden this week, a bird with its head bitten off and one dead rat - I prefer my dawns less fraught, I enjoy the peace - just not the blood shed. Enjoyed :-)

It is so fascinating to see how our minds sometimes can happen to find the same paths of association, even if we do not know each other! Read the second stanza of my post "Near Dawn", and I'm sure the coincidence will make you smile the way I smiled while reading your lovely poem. My own dawn association is sweeter whereas yours is wilder, but they are definitely related :)
