Colour

I've been asked to write on colour
Which at first was my intention
But when I wrack my brain to think
It's beyond my comprehension

I know colour's all around us
It's forever in our world
And when those tints surround us
It's a kaleidoscope unfurled

There's the basic colours, red and blue
And then the different hues
They cover the whole spectrum
There's so many shades to choose

In music colour's so profuse
It's there in every song
There's Red Grow the Rushes O
I think I've got that wrong

There's Tie a Purple Ribbon
A The Mauve Danube I suppose
Would you gaze on Nat Cole's Red Moon
Or give your girl a Light Grey rose

Pink is the Colour of my True Love's Hair
While the sky above 's bright Green
I Can Sing a Rainbow
It's the best you've ever seen

So colour enters different songs
So many spring to mind
I know I've set you wondering
It's because .... I'm colour blind.
