always start before you wonder
or wonder before you begin...
I forget which is best...

Half

By snipping away at the hem I am
Making something deep shorter whilst
Making the curtain longer.
In the harsh light of morning I will
Begin to sew small even stiches after
I have created new lines to follow with heat.

Ironing and sewing on the same day together?
Am I gone mad? So unreplete?
Get me to a doctor immediately or please
Knock me off my misguided feet!
No good can come from this! Before you know
It I shall be placing lavender sachets into drawers
And running my fingers along to find dust and matching
Crockery to linens whilst creating something with flowers
Embroidered in pastels in chains with knots sitting proud.

Unbowed as always
I might just let the curtains be short...
Damn it! As usual I am half undone!

The glass is always half empty...Fill 'er up I say...Seams and hems are not my forte...said by someone who went to a Jean Muir fashion show and admired the cuts on the bias and the little nips and tucks ...'clotheshorses' are sometimes worth a second glance especialy a young Joanna Lumly..(even an old J.L.) ..curtains are ..well ...just curtains?....As thespians say .. (By the way the new RSC is open for business)...'Curtains'?..x.

Is the job half done, or "half undone"? I love it.

:-,?

Oh how one thing leads to another, sounds like you will grow old disgracefully, you are in good company. Those last three lines give it away, excellent!

If we lived in ruins...and were pseudogoths we could match it all!!!
As it is, I pin up blankets to cover windows...Maybe Mary Stewart thinks I'm part hooligan but then, I've never been in jail. I can sew the garden and lambaste the turkey but it's not yet curtains for me
