we are still miles apart

years have passed...

They say the world's getting smaller
how is it you've gone so far?
distance makes one grow fonder,
if its for too long, it makes one ponder
come back now, lets walk together
i've been struggling
the wait gets longer and longer
please come back now

years have passed
we are still miles apart

there is dust in the air
perhaps, the storm will pass,
the clouds will clear
its a matter of few days
you will be here

When i am wrapped in your arms,
the music will play again
nothing will matter...the pain
that we've both gone through
come back moon
i really want to see you

Had I come across this not knowing who wrote it, I may well have thought it a translation of one of the classical Japanese poets . . . Lady Kasa perhaps. The theme of a woman waiting for her lover to return is as old as poetry and as fresh as yours.
