Sunflower

For you my Sunflower,
when the sun doesn't reach all the way, remember this:

I'm here,
even if you can't always see me, feel me or smell me,
I'm still here,
waiting,
with lots of love
for you

and there isn't anyone I want more
but you
because you're the one special flower
that amazes my eyes
and sends sparks into my heart

so my dear
when you feel lonely
I'll be here
waiting
to fill you with sunny happiness
and sweet words
that lingers gently in your mind
filling you with nothing
but a loveable smile

and don't you ever forget
these 3 simple words from me
I
love
you
because I do
I truly do

I love you my flower

I'm going to take a risk here and suggest that this was written from a parent to a child, which is not to say that the sentiment would not be equally sweet if written for a partner/lover/spouse. It just rekindled some feelings I've experienced with my daughter, and it's from there that I can relate.
