thoughts on my dear wife

if you're a hill

the feast of your eyes
if you're a hill how do i climb you
to gain your top in cloudless skies
gather you in my weighty arms
strengthened by your urgent buds
weakness transformed as i embrace the ladder
each rung a flower of your spring-time blossoms

limbs astir and hip heaving
joys glitter and guide my way
lighting your diadem of purest jewels
our marriage mined in bottomless bliss

the journey untiresome each step a reward
worth all my energies a gift of the gods
for a husband in ascent to dreams undreamt

well goodness gracious me!

and now at the top to take you home
to that uncooked meal for salad-loving hearts
a gentle wind rustles through the sheets
and my marrows dance to the feast of your eyes
