everyone is free...sometimes.

Free

I belong to me.
No-one can own me.
A personable woman needs
Not a mind nor a body guard.

I live in a society where my
Peers will protect me and
I them from violence and rape.

I am not the property of my family.
The men cannot attempt to hide me.
They value me with love and a lot of
Understanding even when it is
Difficult to handle me or I them

There go I...
There go I... and then...

We must all be free.
If only ultimately soon enough
To belong to our own ourselves.

My mind is agape at the concept
Of being bundled away and silenced.
Then my whereabouts being fudged
To the world as if it is rocket science!

That man is lying
She is not free.
And he is looking furtive.

Where is she?
Show me
Now...
You no longer can dictate
Her term.

"To belong to our own ourselves" . . . what a great line. It is not only women who may think happiness is belonging to someone. It took me many more years than you to realize that I have to belong to myself first and, it seems, last.

Nice going. A lot to ponder,(freedom).Yhe military took all those ideas out of my head, and left a morally bankrupt derelict. Me and Bobby McGee.
