A walk on the beach is like pouring one's heart out to a best friend...

The Sea and Me

I walked along the shore
On a moonless night
I walked through the darkness
My feet disturbing the sleeping sand
With anger in my heart
And hatred in my eyes
The cool wind blew away hatred and anger
The whispers of the subdued waves soothed my heart
The gentle waves caressed my feet
I was left with a strange peace

I walked along the white shore,
On a cloudy evening
The sun had departed
The moon was yet to arrive
With sadness in my heart
And tears in my eyes
The sea silently heard my sobs
Comforting me with an occasional murmur
The salty breeze dried my tears
I sat for long on the weathered rock with a friend who was now mine forever

I walked along the golden shore
On a summery dawn
The sea of molten gold stretched out before me
Tiny boats with solitary fishermen dotted the expanse
With gladness in my heart
And a smile in my eyes
The sea too roared in happiness
While the waves hugged me in glee
The mighty wind blew my joy to every gloomy nook
Isn't happiness multiplied when shared with a friend?

I live halfway between two oceans, and so my place is the woods but I know the truth of your epigraph and poem no less. You've described a beautiful scene but also a spiritual journey, arriving perhaps at a kind of redemption.

I just loved this as I'm a sea lover, i enjoyed the moods this portrayed. Whenever I had a problem to solve or anger to quell the sea is where I went, alas I no longer live near the sea, I miss it.
