Of this world

Only Another Forgotten Face

When I was only a child
others gave me a name
(was my face so forgettable? )
people who could divide Time
just like an apple or an orange
taught me not to hold my breath
OH wait,
Youth never learns what it means
to fall and fall and fall
ah intoxicating serum of sanity
slapped like rural muds
on the inappropriate laps
of hard granite civil statuary
