I thought of Diana, and the following lines fell from me.

Diana, Princess of wales

Remembering the solace of an all too brief embrace,

Falling tears on tiaras put her diamonds in their place;

And the only consolation for her ever reaching hand,

is the coldest of caresses from the latest leaf to land..

She was many things to many people.
Now we have Simon Cowell.
And I have this silent room :)

I remember exactly where I was when I heard she died - we were on holiday in Sark where we had a cottage, we went for a late brunch at a hotel, to be told by the hotel manager that she had died. Couldn't believe it and cycled home to watch the tv. I cried so much watching her funeral
