Farewell

As the sun falls 'neath the autumnhills,
and winter can be heard at a road near by
I pledge to you my eternal love,
And bury my heart in the evening sky

I seek your warmth, this one last time
you promise kindly to stay a while
I embrace the pulse of undying love
and yield to the summers in your smile.

No gods nor devils can reach me now
I sleep by your fire like a child long lost
I kiss you warmly before you leave
And stars rise to ease the frost

What were we then? Two lovers? Friends?
I think we were soulmates too
Tonight, elves danced on a field of stars
and one of them reminded me of you
