Love is a start

Thousands of dead children,
Malaria and AIDS
Try to make a living?
At nighttime rebel raids

Multinational corporations
With billion$ to invest (?)
They come, they take the profit
They do what they do best...

And still we watch the daily news
Still we eat our bread
Still we wait for action
Still they end up dead

So tell me ain't this wicked?
Tell me not to break
Tell me to keep going
There is too much at stake

Would I die tomorrow,
All I'd wish to say
Is "I tried", I think the best I could
To give a brighter day

But mothers of dead children,
Forgive me, my deceit
Forgive my kin, my continent
Oh why could we not see't

But if I live another day,
Please also take a part,
Just share with all your tender love
At least love is a start

A fantastic sentiment. A brilliant piece, should be posted on all the walls of corporate boardrooms. And if you have love in your heart then you will spread light into many brighter days. Enjoyed the read.

Great poem. We all feel a sense of regret we cannot do anymore than what we can. If you remove the left and right politicians and their misguided attempts at charity ( here in the USA and in your country ) as a cover for bribes and kickbacks it will never change. Corporations only go where corporations are allowed to or have paid there way to. Your ending says it all. One can hope, one can hope.
