THERE IS NO GLOREY IN WAR!

There is no glory in war

No winners only loser's

Sealed coffins

No viewing allowed

Coffins with loved ones inside

Mothers wife's sons daughters fathers

Grieving

None can look and say goodbye

Medals given chunks of metals

Wheres the glory?!

Survivors of his unit

Who witnessed his wounds

Now suffer from PTSD

Alcohol drugs abuse though more they abuse them

Live on the streets , spend time in prison

Now wheres the glory in all of that that!?

If ever there was glory in war perhaps it was when purposes seemed clearly defined and battle was man against man, sword against sword, looking your enemy in the eye, measuring your courage against his . . . war was once personal. Now it is carnage wreaked upon the unseen by the unknown, innocents caught between.

The only glory was in the minds of young men on the eve of war Ken and I doubt if that has changed one little bit even in todays climate but that soon changes when the reality hits home, its just about pain, tears, loss of friends and loved ones who cannot be replaced, bits of metal as a reminder? I think the scars will do that,a very thought provoking write Ken~Graham.
