Poetry is the affection
That is shown by a lover.
It is the hate upon the face of darkness.
Poetry is the wisdom
In the words of our mind.
It is the freedom found on the breeze.
Poetry is the ardency
That is difficult to share.
It is the beauty of our deepest desire.
Poetry is the animosity
Attained by long days.
It is the innocence we so eagerly miss.
Poetry is the experience
We have yet to understand.
Poetry is ageless.
