A form called 'sijo'. -14th December 2012.

Within reach.

A sightly meadow with fluent rivulet and sun glimmer
Beyond my rain rattled window where I sit despondent.
The tranquility becoming ever closer, yet still too far.

I hadn't heard of this form either, John :-)
There's some beautiful imagery here and a very well-rendered melancholy.
Applause!

Had I not known I would have thought this an excellently translated poem of Tu Fu or Li Po, a compliment I rarely get to give.

Always love a short, compact, jam-packed poem!
Not the easiest to create but what a joy when it comes together. Thank you for sharing with us :-)
