'she' saga

night crawls within the soil
dissolved in slowly melting snow

confused, she walks the frozen path
searching for untimely berries
and murmuring with a dreamy voice –

your rib – my spine
your smile – my shrine

she roams with rosaries made of apple pips
hanging around her wrists and ankles –
she stumbles but rises back quickly,
holding on the rope of her words –

your seed – my tree
your 'you' – my 'me'

how can there be shadow when there's no light?
and yet her soles feel beneath them
the shadow of her thoughts –

your loss – my gain
your fall – my reign

and under the moonless sky,
the earth drenched in night essence
vows to ever cherish her footsteps

It is truly the Good Earth and 'she' is an Earth Mother, as we used to say.
