Monologue VII (Phoenix)

aahhh dear reader...dear friend...
tonight's topic shall be an amazing being,
a being of which all people have spoken in awe,
and which holds hidden in itself
the promise of eternity, of foreverness...
so take your cup of hot tea my friend,
and let us talk of the phoenix,
the supreme image of an oracle,
preparing its own incense tomb when its end is near,
knowing in advance that its death is only the first step
towards its new life...
you would think that this could be
a sheer image of hope, of faith in what we call "destiny"...
just imagine the confidence given by such a power...
although you're right,
that igneous agony to which the phoenix is fated
is of no appeal whatsoever...
yet we burn our souls more than once in our lives,
sometimes for reasons not related to resurrection...
and we keep hoping that we would still rise again
and find the strength for new steps...
you know dear reader,
it is said that you cannot kill a phoenix,
because it will always rise from its' ashes,
even brighter and stronger than before...
but I always wondered what would happen
if there wouldn't be any ashes left behind him
because the phoenix was drowned to death in tears?...
