The child ghost was hidden among the willows and the flowers.

INCURABLE INVALID

The child ghost was hidden among the willows and the flowers.

INCURABLE INVALID

Hard earth sat listening
as she stood pressing out the sunlight from her eyes
On tiptoe
out of the dazzled shadows in her room
Little girl lost opens the toy chest

The shapes gather
one by one
glinting across the bare walls
Deep in thought
Drowning as quick as the sunset
behind the heightened shadows of forestry

Yesterday brought broken teeth
Today, pink cheeks
Tomorrow wrinkles,sorrows and betrayals

She was born of the sun,
born to rise and fall and rise again
Lighting up the waves of some somber stream
Weary with the dark ,the strain , the cold
wealth of moon
An incurable invalid
crushed by the weight of the world
finds refuge
