"I am the Heart; and the Snake is entwined About the invisible core of the mind."

BEAUTIFUL DESTROYER KEEPER OF MY HEART

"I am the Heart; and the Snake is entwined About the invisible core of the mind."

BEAUTIFUL DESTROYER KEEPER OF MY HEART

Little girl be careful what you say
Time cannot mend a broken bird
whose soul has flown away
Sleep well for you are young
Upon the shadows in flight among the stones
your rifleman will wake and hold your breath
in a fearful file of mortar fires
and sought desires
without affection courted
leading you down the dusty road where he once ran
offering you a flask of wine, white roses
a thousand tendernesses
laying your body down in deep green valleys
smiling with you on stony banks of streams he loves
taking pride straddling you by his side
in fine passion
love shown in the touch of his hands
stroking you to quietness
as he gathers you in his arms
and you will die on his battlefield
weak and indolent
while cracks of fading sunlight
cage his nonchalant,incurious , dispassionate
stare
