Chewing the invisible umbilical cord

How I would love to stay in the fetal position
Take up as little space as possible & just be
Feel self-possessed again as back when
When I was the embodiment of creation

~ Inside the egg - like womb ~

Oh how I wish I could stay forever in
The fetal position let me stay oh universe
Let me stay I don't want to compare anymore
To be an observer I don't want to be a witness

~ Inside the universe ~

Yes I know I now exist inside the universe
If I keep staying in the fetal position without
Being the embodiment of evolution it will only
Lead to my physical deterioration & I will not

~Be nourished ~

Find what I need inside the universe
I don't want to become detrimental
To you I love you universe I love you
As myself  I want to stretch out feel

~touched ~

By you and feel how you accept me
in your embrace
Each breath I take Oh each heartbeat
is a hymn of life I will find a way  I 'll
keep finding better ways
               ¤
~ It never ends ~

This is beautiful, so dark, deep and intensely beautiful – which is where I tend to find beauty.

It reminds me of subliminal images I had as a child and which faded as childhood left me. I swear I have memories of being in the womb, but I'm not sure if anyone would believe me, or if I could describe it to them properly anyway.

This poem at least tales me back to those faded images, and that is a very powerful thing.

Thank you.

I completely love this idea!! How we wish to be always protected in that fetal position, yet only a very kind universe can begin to unfold us ever so gently. Still, when overwhelmed, we often retreat to that position in an attempt to feel protected.
I really love this concept, and there is so much more to be gained from this poem!
