A HUNDRED YEARS AGO SPRING TIME RAMSGATE 1914 (WW1)

A hundred years ago it was spring again
Days becoming warmer and warmer

Daffodils out of bud , bobbing , swaying
In Ellington Park , with the spring breeze

Roses , showing in the local gardens

Blue bells ringing silently , colours , pealing out

At war in six months , hardly!
Imposable , it's spring time afterall!

Look there's old Jacky with his horse and cart
Cleaning the inner harbour
Old Jackie , shoveling the muck on the back of cart
Reveling the chalk underneath the muck

Getting the harbour cleaned up , ready for spring and summer to come

War , now thats just silly talk! In six months from now!
Some ones talking tommyrot! Stuff and nonsense!

Good to read your wartime poems again. Who wants to believe in war? It was Spring!

Somehow it reminds me a bit about climate change these days. With the snow melting and the daffodils blooming, who wants to think of climate change and natural disasters?
