It takes some pretty fearful and uncertain steps to finally land somewhere stable.
Like swimming to the surface in a pitch black night.
You must always seek courage within
In parts you've sworn you'd never see again.

Challange is the only fuel for change
If it came easy we wouldn't grow to fit these spaces
Become tall as trees, with roots deep into the core
Of the places that built us.
Foundations of mud, blood, and sweat
Ripped from the stories of our mothers
Mistakes of our fathers
And sculpted into something entirely its own
Something with purpose
With power.

But first you must remember
We are greater than ourselves
Bigger than our bodies
Full of inconceivable potential
And our restraints
Are self inflicted
So your freedom is your own
You are the hero
Set yourself free

I really like this piece. It is a brilliant spirit builder that flows well and ends perfectly. Well done.

There is a lot of truth in your poem. The line that strikes me personally is "Mistakes of our fathers." i am hopeful my kids can survive my mistakes.
