A POEM COMPOSED WHILE FLYING FROM HYDERABAD TO KOLKATA

FROM THE WINDOW

Tall houses appear
to grow like trees from the plane
slowly rising high

people turn tiny
with cars, water, birds and beasts
in the summer flame

nervously worried
watch the moving mass of clouds
from the window

eternal patterns
nature's wonder on the edge
a streak of orange

and thousands of lights
twinkle in colours like stars--
seat belt fastened

Cars amd houses much too big for us to handle , I love the line line "a streak of orange" Orange is such a "restless" and disharmonic colour - istn it? And you are watching all this from a plane.. "seat belt fastened" A very clever poem!! Wishing you a joyful day-Pia

Very nice. I just flew back from Florida last week and I can see what you are describing. I also like the Haiku form of each line. :) kathy
