close the blinds

close the blinds:
let all those who see
think of it what they will,
but the mind shall
be ever free from onlookers

scorn the gawkers of others' minds
who have no thoughts of their own

the house seems to have cried -
the windows still have a residue of tears
(i think it rained last night)

sometimes i watch the rain
and listen to its soft beat
and it soothes the dying of the self

(i want to die
swimming
on a rainy night)

close the blinds, please
for i have seen enough -
the show has met its end,
let's go home

(perhaps my body will be found
in the aftermath of the rain storm)

This poem is beautiful. In a very artistic way you have joined the senses of the characters and the house itself, the blinds are brought to life and even the rain is turned to tears. Probably my favorite so far of your poems.
