café musings

i merge into the crowd
as a single entity
with a faceless identity

(a single entity washed into oblivious mass existence)

the music overshadows
my sense of selfhood
lost in the soft melodies

i am in the crowd,
i am unseen,
i am the unknown shadow

i come to cafés to be among people
only to discover that
i no longer belong among them

(i am an entity
with a faceless identity
in a crowd of conformity)

i merged into the crowd
as a single entity,
i emerged with misplaced identity

aren't we all just shadows
cast by the constant hands of time
upon the empty whitewashed
backdrop of the clock?

aren't we all shadows in the end?

I love this. So well expressed the feeling of walking into a room full of strangers only to feel more alone than ever.
I so love the phrase; "I am an entity with a faceless identity in a crowd of conformity. " Bravo!
