WHEN TALKING TO A STRANGER

Some times a stranger we met - get to talking to
They listen - the stranger says - what no other
Had ever said ever before
Then your life takes a different road - and life
Is much better - no looking back
That stranger - is never seen again

I like how this connects to your Life's Road poem. So true that a person's influence on us is not always in direct proportion to the length, intensity, or type of relationship. We try to fit people in to an idealized scheme, and maybe we should just let each relationship be its unique, and perhaps temporary, self.
