The man.

I have to be the man
You need me to be.
I'll keep myself six feet below,
So that you can amble with the wind.
I'll play my part
My sweet friend;
Just come down to the rivers end,
And I'll be ready.
I'll hold onto you
Until we find our way back home.
You won't go through the dark alone.

I'll be the man
You need me to be.

Beautifully put, I was left with the feeling there could be another stanza. Loved the line, "so that you can amble with the wind."

What better offer can a man make?
Simply beautiful.

Oh my God!! This poem is so beautiful I really enjoyed it.
I lost myself in it
