In or out ?

They fought in two world wars,
My Grandad and my Dad,
Along with millions of others,
Millions didn't make it home,
That fought for democracy,
For you and me,
So I could vote for you,
My Grandad and My Dad have gone,
But not forgotten,
When I vote in the referendum,
I will remember My Grandad and my Dad,
As I vote to come out of the EU,
My vote will be a vote for democracy,
The EU is not democratic,
I cant vote them out, If we stay in.
And neither can you,
Simple really,
I'm not going to let the sands of time blind me,
Not now.

My knowledge is limited regarding referendum of which you are speaking. However, the poetry speaks wisely and well. I am enthralled by those last two lines. There is power and deep emotion of conviction carved out like a banner using the metaphorical phrase, '...sands of time blind me, not now."
