A rhyming poem of addictions.

Artificial Happiness

That magical high,
Flying up to the sky,
But when it's time to say bye,
And you are no longer fried,
You feel like you want to die.

An evil pill shall kill,
It can be legally filled,
But don't consume it at will,
It causes a big thrill,
Yet leads to a path downhill.

The same link comes from a drink,
You take that sip without a blink,
You're drunk before you can think,
And the next day goes down the sink.

Stay away from that addiction,
This isn't science fiction,
It will cause many frictions,
And leads to a lot of contradictions.

I appreciate the message behind the poem. I really do. But the constant rhyming really takes away from the grim nature of the subject matter and causes it to seem comical. Especially the line- an evil pill shall kill. The rhymes too seem forced at times. But hey, all this is my opinion. I still enjoyed the poem just letting you know my honest thoughts.
