A free verse poem of time.

Patience

Boredom causes a fake illusion,
Believing that the clock moves slowly.

False perception of time becomes stressful,
Begging the experience to end quicker.

Irritation inflames patience by waiting,
As fumes burns more tolerance.

A disciplined mind knows speed of moment,
As the hourglass always moves at equal pace.

Such a great poem. It's gritty. Written by one who has experienced life with all it's ups and downs. Seriously that last couplet is wonderful. All the many ways you've described how time seems to stand still to the slacked up sufferers is spectacular

Time is dependant it seems on so many aspects of life, age, mood etc. I've certainly felt each and every stanza, well written.

I find time to be a fascinating subject. As you say, " the hourglass always moves at equal pace." it is so true, and we know that in our intellect yet we all have felt that there are different times in our lives when time seems to move at a different pace.
The author Stephen King wrote a short story about how time moves at a different pace depending on circumstances.
The poem is well written and to me a fascinating thought. Thanks for sharing with us.

The concept of time we perceive is relative. Well, it depends on the mood. But, like you said in the last couplet, a disciplined mind knows speed of moment as the hourglass always moves at equal pace.
