Remembrance
Should I not long back
to places of my love and friends
and only live to find them once again,
revisit them with joy and candour
as they must remain a continuity
of love and friendship and communion forever?
Sorely I will miss you
but retain the comfort of preserving you
and ever visit you again in my rermembrance,
always thinking of you now and then
and always looking forward to the moment
when at last we may rejoin again
to smile indeed for yet another moment
of some days, to cultivate and piously maintain
our lasting union and belonging to each other
for as long as there will be remembrance.
