Schoolboy Howler

Ollie the homely owl
Was a friendless fowl,
Still living aged ten
With his loving hen
In the maternal nest.
But his mum knew best;
She told Ollie one day
That he must fly away
And start a new life
With a comely wife.
But Ollie wasn't sure
How a wife to procure,
Twittering on to his mum
That he was dumb and stupid
When it came to things cupid.
His mum had a plan
To make Ollie a man,
At the end of her tether
She called 'Birds of a feather',
A dating site for the raptor
Who wanted a heart to capture.
On behalf of her lovelorn lad
She placed an apt ad,
Introducing under headlines true:

OLLIE, HALF WIT, TO WOO.

Clever, still smiling at the "headlines true."
