I've been on a meditation sort of wave of being.

Just a stream of thoughts as I search for peace in the chaos.

O Cloud of Peace

There's something about clouds

I've read of them last night and this morning

In poetry, from poets writing--

One of light

One of dark

But this afternoon, as the bluest sky filled beautifully

Floating

There you were, seeing me, looking at you

And that mosquito--darting--at my window

Trying to sting my thoughts

I saw through its transparent wings

You were magnificent

And I was not afraid

For you, my cloud, remained-- even more powerful

Building

Reaching righer into the heavens

As the chaos in the world tries to infect me

Through the window of screens in life

I sit alone in the quiet

Watching the skies for peace in knowing certainties

That the clouds hold a purposeful truth

Change will always happen

And rain will fall in its time

Here am I--  an evaporating mist

Invisible

As light as air

Rising to join the others

Who cry tears for the wandering lost

We are the mass of heaviness

Weighted in the water of pain

Oh do you see the darkness!

The underbelly of this beautiful cloud

It is full with the cleansing purification

Pregnant with new life--

The fragrant morning rain.

So dance in the streets when we fall upon you

Rejoice as you bathe in these tears

Love one another in your freshness

Laugh and sing together

For these are the days of new years!

And all the clouds will continue

To gather

To form

To sustain-- the balance and sense of the cosmos

For there is a purpose in the season of all things.

You seem to be trying to make sense of the world, which is a mammoth task, but somehow you portray a sense of peace and optimism with the line " these are the days of new years ." Cloud watching brings a sense of perspective with your place in the world, you have captured it perfectly.

Excellent. Metaphorically and literally. Artistically and thematically. I re-echo what otp has to say about your poem. :)

I am sitting on a veranda watching clouds; white and wisby, above popcorn clouds with dark underbellies as I read this enchanting work. I see a story of your life-the joys and sorrows. I see God's hand on you and you and He conversing through the clouds. I feel your understanding of some of the why's of life and ultimate joy which triumphs over all, as you are freed to become a child again just as God promised. I could write much more about your good news that the dark clouds that become cleansing rain and how that rain comes from the love of people who have been through hard times and are given a gift of understanding and compassion. We will talk about all the particulars soon. This is bursting with brilliance and wisdom.

i so appreciate poems that are patiently written, that follow a line of thought, whether by stream of consciousness or otherwise, as your does. and whether this is read metaphorically or otherwise, it is complete. i read it both ways, finding the greater peace (this is about peace) in the metaphor.

how is it that clouds and dancing go together? they do, and that's all that matters.

this gives me peace. time has slowed, if only, ironically, for a moment.

bookmarked, so that i may raid the fridge of peace at will.

Dear Kathy,

Some say that clouds are angels in disguise; who are we to disagree?

But I know that you are angel... on earth!

With best wishes,
