Just a bit crazy today, but wanted to give a sane message. This is the result.

Spicy Gossip

Salt and Pepper went to town.
Sugar saw them and gave a frown.
"What's that? Pepper, black, and Salt, white!
This is no good; it's just not right!"

Sugar made such a stir,
Paprika came out to comfort her.
Basil noticed their rendezvous.
He turned up his nose and said, "pe-u!"

Cinnamon heard Basil's cry.
She thought she would ask him, "why."
Then Nutmeg joined into the fray
Gossip is what when on that day.

As the spices started to spin,
The brew was just about to begin.
When Bangled Mary open the door
And threw the spices on the floor.

She stomped them into quite a mix
For a special supper she was 'bout to fix
She swept them up into a pot
And turned the heat to extra hot.

Each one lost their identity,
Blending into what was meant to be.
A favorite stew that was a mess,
Nothing but water and emptiness.

Great metaphor. This is something I think we can all relate to given the current happenings here.

Wonderful reading, Kathy

I like the play on words. The poetry is light hearted and charming yet still effectively addresses and portrays the underlying message, woven into the fabric of our society. Great work.
