songs of the crickets

on nights
when i feel
that i
haven't
anyone
to call
or text
and tobacco
is my only friend
left,
i listen
to the songs
of the crickets

There's a mournful sound to them if you listen or if it isn't drowned out by the cicadas. The other sounds of the night are what you don't want to hear. I like your poem. I like to listen to nature as well.
