I was delighted to see a light snowfall had arrived during the night,unanticipated.
covering a rather dull yard and driveway with a bright virginal white. my thoughts wandered...
The gift
A joy to see fresh snow this morning
dusting the lawn as frosted mint
light and airy it fell without warning
last night to my astonishment
covering flaws and errant leaves
a veil of first communion white
I wish that those who would believe
in mercy love and charitable light
could surprise us all and gently weave
a morning swath of calming salve
to counter chicanery's mean resolve
