No idea where this came from except from my renegade fingertips with a mind of their own.

You Make it Mine.

You saw me take what was yours and make it mine,
and I know all there is to know about you.
I know who you are and what secrets you try to keep,
and all the monsters you buried down in dirt oh, so deep.
But the monsters rage and the ground does quake,
the lightning flashes and burns through the sky.
The earth does split and the wind is on the howl,
and the demons are pounding on the walls.
I can save you from all you fear and free your fettered feet,
but first I must see you running to me,
and blindly follow me.
I am here to keep you from harm, from twisting your leg or breaking your arm.
I will always keep you safe, even if that means safe from yourself.
I see all, and know all, all before you do.
Your eyes are my eyes, yet deeper I see than you.
You think you touch, but I remember,
the burn from the heat and the pain.
You clumsy little fool you are, and like a curious cat,
but dead is the cat as you would surely be,
if it wasn't for me keeping your mind.
You go to move, but I take each step,
never far from you am I.
You ran from me before, but never do you escape.
For I am always less than a heartbeat away.

The voice in these words can either be benevolent or not, and I find it interesting on both possibilities of perspective, especially if it's the latter. That gives it a chilling effect. If the former, it gives the effect of a protector on a mission to protect. Either way, I enjoyed where you led the thoughts in this, thanks.
