I am there when you need me...

My Friend

When the world is cold and darkness falls
and the stars have lost their shine,
Call on me and you'll see,
you are a friend of mine...
When the tide has come and washed your dreams
and left your heart a shore,
Don't you hesitate,
right from the gate,
you're not alone no more.
There are people that you know
but not many you can call friend,
Cause they are not there to guide,
on the fence they fall on either side,
And won't be there in the end...
I say what I mean, I mean what I say
and so heed my words today,
You are my friend and I am yours,
My heart cares with opened doors,
to laugh, to smile,
to walk with you the last mile.
Yes, I am your friend....

I know exactly what you mean.I have met so many people in my life but the ones I know will come when I call are less than five and I think that this poem is a proper tribute to those we love as true friends:)

A very lovely piece speaking of friendship...so many call themselves your friend ...until you need them..

I can see that you would be a friend in the true sense of the word....

I enjoyed the read..

Thanks for sharing..
