GIVING BLOOD

Me and my girl went
Down to the town hall.
Just to give blood,
For one and all.

On one occasion,
After biscuits and tea.
We went to leave,
She fainted on me.

After this I thought,
Enough is enough.
She couldn't give blood,
If it makes her feel rough.

She went to the doctor's,
She came out shocked.
She told me she was
Pregnant,
Our world really rocked.

She needed reassuring,
In a state of euphoric bliss.
I gave her a loving kiss,
My beautiful lovely wife.
Was sharing her body,
With a new life.

That was the year,
Our love could have died.
For that was a heartbreak year,
The year we lost our first child.

When I think of all the
Things that she missed;
To myself l cannot lie,
Sometimes I sit by myself;
hold my head and I cry.
