THE HOTTEST DAY

There's no breeze,
There's no through air.
Not even to carry a sneeze,
Why didn't we see this coming;
When the ozone began to tear.
1976 must have been such a plight,
Extremely hot I've seen the papers;
Everyone lost their colour overnight.
If it gets hotter it would be,
A very strange wonderful sight.
When all of us turn black and white,
That would be so strange;
If it happened overnight.
I would miss so many things,
The colours of butterflies,
As they open up their wings.
The beauty we could see,
Rainbows after it rains.
Even the colour of grass,
No colours to see once again.
All because mankind didn't care,
About a little ozone tear.
Maybe they would listen,
It would be a terrible sight.
If everything in the world,
Just turned out black and white.
