a good cup


We had strained tea leaf cups last night,
mother in law off to full body MRI scan
for the big 'C' some time this morning.

Life can move ahead at a dizzying pace.

Just like twirling dancers are told to focus
on an immobile object to keep from hurling
and keeling over, so is a good cup of tea.

I want to describe this as excellent... but I realise that would be inappropriate in light of the subject matter. Good poetry almost always arises out of the ashes of the Poet's emotions. I send my heartfelt wishes for you and your family's survival of this Life event, and wish with all my heart too, that the scanner brings good news.
