The back side of winter is a dreary wet inhospitable place.

Karma

It’s dark outside today at seven

This second morning of twenty three

Weather dull with rain to leaven

My mood from dull to happy

I’ve decided that the best solution

To overcoming these weather woes

Is to develop a mood in opposition

To nature’s gray and soggy foes

I’ll bravely smile at the wet and dank

Frowning at bright and golden rays

Defeating nature’s drab and bank

Some karma for spring's sunny days

D G Moody
Quite apart from the excellent rhyme sequence, I liked the thought expressed. Her to, I'm in a post New Year wet mood.

I like it! "Reverse psychology" as my Mom would say!

(I have heard the months of January to mid-March referred to as "a cold grey bucket of suck." The phrase has a certain poetic bite.)
