do you remember lucerne as i do

putting francs

into the meter for hot water

 

sitting by the lake

reading

what was it we were reading   

 

do you remember the waiter's

look

of disdain   who knew a nose could be so long

 

but   rightly so   offending sensibilities

as we were

left and right   do you remember it 

 

as i do   as lovely   as enchanting   or   is it you

i am remembering

I enjoyed this poem, its seemingly casual accuracy, its open-hearted fidelity to a particular moment, to a particular person. A memorandum of what deserves to be remembered!
