FIRST

First I read Edgar Allan Poe,
My dreams are filled with
Screams as never before
Quote the poet never more.

Then I read Edward Lear
Who was busy counting hairs
While I tumbled backwards
Up the stairs

Then I tweedled my fingers,
And tweedled my thumbs.
Through Alice in Wonderland
All I can see. is Lewis Carroll,
As a jolly good read.

Then I read William Blake,
After which I read Rudyard Kipling.
One wrote tiger tiger burning bright,
While the other set his tail alight.

I've read a plethora Inbetween,
The latest by Richard Harris Barham.
About the Jackdaw of Rheims,
It would be a cardinal not to mention.
He wasn't as stuffy as so many cleric's
had been.
After all he was a cleric to the church.
