YOU CANNOT BE SIRIUS

Tail laying down between her knees,
Her master had beaten her for having fleas.
She knew if she could use her telepathic
mind, She could bring him to his knees.
It wasn't dogs fault the master had them,
Dog would tell master if only she could.

Sometimes dog would look out to the stars,
Wondering if she helped her master.
Reach out beyond the Vail into space,
Thinking metaphorically wondering;
If her master made it out to her people,
What then would happen to his race.

Then and only then he would find,
Just how gentle masters truly are.
If he manages to travel that far,
Out to where she came from,
Just beyond the planet Sirius.
The one she knows as home,
The dog Star.
