Kaddish

The Day tilts

The poem has sharp edges, my hands bleed

in showers of rain

I go into preservation

in memory of the future

Humanity blooms in Auschwitz, Gaza, Kreml, Jerusalem,

Hanoi, Theresienstadt, Wöbbelin, Kfar Aza, Sabra & Shatila

Humanity bears fruit:
dehumanization, cluster bombs, Pol Pot, mustard gas, Hitler, Zyklon B,

Agent Orange, Netanyahu, Napalm, nuclear arms,

Putin, Trump

A godless minstrel hides a poem

down the road

All mirrors are tucked in

Implacability reads Kaddish for the world

Everything is at stake;

that's not much, but everything counts

You've made a fine poem out of some difficult subject matter. Especially kudos for that killer ending couplet. Masterful work.
