Some haiku samples from my collection.

Eleven Haikus

---

The composer now

forging reindeer tracks in snow

The Moon listening

---

Autumn three months old

An old man smoking his pipe

Moon lonely on high

---

Man with broken leg

He has nowhere to go now

Cranes calling from above

---

Beggar with his bowl

Summer sun beating his head

Now he asks for shade

---

Fireplace whining

The computer buzzing low

Firs dressed in snow

---

Nightfall, fall light falls

House with light in all windows

Meteor shooting

---

Ski tracks in the woods

Silence into the distance

Snow from tree, thudding

---

Ski tracks in forest

Silence into the distance

Call of Black Woodpecker

---

Roaring snow-scooter

in the night's frigid distance

Moon behind the clouds

---

Night in bed, white sheets,

already she's fast asleep,

sheet of snow outside

---

Endless rows of tents,

refugees asleep at night

Airplane roaring past

All of them are wonderful. They're the kinds that, if I found in an anthology, would make me mad with inspiration
