The loss of trust
“If your husband has deceived you with another,
you must break with him at once,
as you can never trust him any more.”
It is about the worst thing that could happen,
when your partner goes to bed with someone else,
and it’s the same concerning any sex.
The worst and the most difficult part
is actually the separation,
and many are reluctant to go through with it.
How necessary is it? It is not necessary,
but it is inevitable. Even if you don’t,
the damage is beyond repair,
the necessary trust is lost, all intimacy gone,
and the resulting wound will last forever.
Forgiveness does not help, it is a futile bandage,
you may practice noble tolerance and magnanimity,
but even that will only be an artificial remedy.
The only thing to do is to accept it and to let your partner go,
and although painful a release,
that operation will be the least painful.
